Lesson Content

Care Of The Ear And Nose

Each part of the ear works together to help us hear properly. We have three parts of the ear and they are;

Outer Ear: This part collects sound.

Middle Ear: It transfers sound to the inner ear.

Inner Ear: Helps in hearing and balance.

Tools for Cleaning the Ears:

Earbuds (used carefully and gently).
Clean cotton wool.
Soft towel.
Warm water.
Handkerchief (for cleaning around the ear).

Tools for Cleaning the Nose:

Clean handkerchief
Tissue paper
Nasal aspirator (for younger children)
Warm water and a soft cloth
Saline spray or drops (used under adult supervision)

Lesson Evaluation

To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:

Name the three parts of the ear.
List two materials for cleaning the ears and nose.
Explain why it is important to clean the nose.
Demonstrate how to clean the ears gently using earbuds.
