What are Norms?

Location

Location is the specific place or spot where something or someone can be found. It’s like an address that tells you where something is situated.

Types of Norms

Folkways

Folkways can be defined as the simple, everyday customs and behaviors that are considered normal and polite in a particular culture or community. Folkways are the usual ways people in a society do things, like how we greet each other, the way we dress, or how we eat at the table.

Taboos

Taboo can be defined as something that is considered very wrong or unacceptable in a particular culture or society. Taboos are rules or customs that people follow to avoid doing things that are seen as disrespectful, impolite, or harmful. They are things that are not allowed or are considered bad manners in a community.
