Classroom Note:

Balance Diet

A balanced diet is a meal that contains the six classes of food in the right proportion and sufficient amount.

Foods considered as balanced diet provide us with the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that our bodies need to function optimally. For example, a balanced meal might include rice (carbohydrates), beans (proteins), vegetables (vitamins and minerals), and a small amount of oil (fats).

Lesson Evaluation:

To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:

  1. Define what a balanced diet is.
  2. Name one food from each food group.
  3. Explain why it is important to eat a balanced diet.
