Classroom Note:

Purification of Water

Clean water is vital for our health. There are different methods to purify water to make it safe for drinking. Some of which includes:

  1. Boiling: Boil water for at least one minute to kill harmful germs.
  2. Filtration: Use a water filter to remove particles and some microorganisms.
  3. Chlorination: Add chlorine tablets to water to kill bacteria and viruses.
  4. Distillation: Heat water to create steam and then condense it back into liquid to remove impurities.
  5. Using UV Light: Use ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria and viruses.

Each of the following method helps ensure the water we drink is safe and clean.

Lesson Evaluation:

To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:

  1. List three methods of purifying water.
  2. Explain why it is important to drink clean water.
  3. Describe how to use a water filter.
