Components Of A System Unit – Hard Disk Drive


A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a data storage device used in computers to store and retrieve digital information using one or more rigid rapidly rotating disks coated with magnetic material.

Differences Between Hard Disk And Floppy Disk

  1. Storage Capacity: HDDs can store much more data than floppy disks.
  2. Speed: HDDs have faster data access and processing speeds.
  3. Durability: HDDs are more durable and less prone to damage.
  4. Usage: HDDs are currently more commonly used while floppy disks are mostly obsolete.
  5. Size: HDDs are physically larger and more robust than floppy disks.
