Ancient Towns in Nigeria; Kano and Okene

Kano:

Located in the northern part of Nigeria.
Founded around 999 AD.
Known for its historic walls, trade, and as a center for Islamic scholarship.

Okene:

Located in the central part of Nigeria, in Kogi State.
Known for its rich cultural heritage and traditional festivals.
Famous for the production of woven cloth known as Okene cloth.

These towns are important parts of Nigeria’s history and culture.

Lesson Evaluation:

To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:

Name one historical fact about Kano.
Describe where Okene is located.
Explain why Kano is significant.
Identify one cultural aspect of Okene.
