Some Ancient Towns in Nigeria
Calabar and Gobe are also among some ancient towns in Nigeria.
- Calabar is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria. It is the capital of Cross River State and lies near the coast, close to the Cameroon border.
- Gombe is located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. It is the capital of Gombe State and is situated approximately in the center of the northeastern part of the country.
Lesson Evaluation:
To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:
- Point out Calabar and Gobe on a blank map of Nigeria.
- Name one historical landmark in Calabar.
- Explain why Gobe is significant in Nigerian history.
