Water Cycle
The water cycle is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth. This means that water is constantly changing forms and cycling through the environment.
Elements of Water Cycle:
The water cycle consists of elements such as streams/rivers (water bodies), clouds, rain, evaporation, condensation, precipitation and the sun.
Drying Up of Streams:
During the dry seasons, streams and rivers dry up due to decreased rainfall and increased evaporation. This evaporated water will later fall back as rain when it condenses or cools down during the rainy seasons.
Lesson Evaluation:
To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:
- Define the water cycle
- Name two elements of the water cycle.
- Explain why streams might dry up during certain seasons.
