Changes in Animals:

Animals go through various changes as they grow and develop. These changes are part of their life cycle. Let’s look at two important aspects of changes in animals:

1. Life Cycle of Insects:

• Insects like butterflies undergo a fascinating transformation known as metamorphosis.
• The life cycle of a butterfly consists of four stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa (chrysalis), and adult.
• Eggs are laid by adult butterflies on plants. From these eggs, tiny caterpillars hatch.
• Caterpillars eat and grow rapidly during the larval stage.
• When they are fully grown, caterpillars form a chrysalis (pupa), where they undergo a remarkable change.
• Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar transforms into an adult butterfly.
• The adult butterfly emerges from the chrysalis and can fly, lay eggs, and start the cycle again.

2. Growth in Animals:

• All animals start their lives as young ones and gradually grow into adults.
• Young animals may look different from the adults and have specific needs.
• They grow by eating and getting nutrients from food.
• As they grow, they go through various stages of development.
• Over time, they change in size, shape, and behavior.
• Eventually, they become mature adults capable of reproducing and taking care of themselves.
