Note to Pupils:

Pollution: Pollution is the contamination of the environment by harmful substances or activities.

Types of Pollution: There are three types of pollution: Air, Land, and Water Pollution.

Effects of Air Pollution: Air pollution can lead to health problems, smog, acid rain, global warming, and damage to the ozone layer.

Ways to Control Air Pollution:

1. Reduce emissions from vehicles and industries.
2. Plant trees to improve air quality.
3. Use clean energy sources.
4. Promote public transport and carpooling.
5. Implement laws and regulations on emissions.

Effects of Water Pollution: Water pollution can lead to waterborne diseases, harm aquatic life, and affect drinking water quality.

Ways to Control Water Pollution:

1. Properly dispose of waste.
2. Protect water sources from pollution.
3. Use environmentally friendly products.
4. Promote recycling and waste reduction.
5. Enforce laws on water pollution.
