Lesson Content
Computer Games – Dave Game
Predicting the Action of Key Players:
In the Dave game, the main character, Dave, often faces various obstacles. You can predict his actions by observing his environment. For example, if there’s a pit, Dave might jump over it, or if there’s an enemy, he might try to avoid or attack it. This means that by paying attention to the game’s cues, you can anticipate what Dave will do next.
Suggesting Solutions to Key Problems:
When Dave encounters a challenge, such as a locked door, you might suggest that he finds a key to unlock it. If an enemy is blocking his path, you might think of ways to defeat the enemy or find an alternative route. This involves thinking critically and considering all available options in the game to overcome the problem.
Lesson Evaluation
To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:
- Predict what Dave will do when he encounters a locked door.
- Suggest a solution if Dave is blocked by an enemy.
- Explain why it’s important to predict actions in a game.
- Discuss in groups how predicting actions and solving problems can help in real life.
