Introduction to Drawing; Songs That Promote National Values

Drawing is a way of expressing our ideas and feelings. There are different types of drawing, such as:

  1. Sketching: Quick, rough drawing without much detail.
  2. Shading: Adding shadows to a drawing to show depth.
  3. Illustrative Drawing: Detailed drawing used to tell a story or explain an idea.

In addition to learning about drawing, it’s important to understand national values. One way to do this is by singing songs that promote these values. For example, our National Anthem reminds us of the importance of unity, peace, and love for our country.

National Anthem:
Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey,
To serve our fatherland,
With love and strength and faith…

Lesson Evaluation:

To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:

  1. What are the different types of drawing?
  2. Why is the National Anthem important?
  3. Draw a simple illustration of a national symbol.
  4. Sing the National Anthem with the class.
  5. Explain one national value promoted by the National Anthem.
