Rules and Regulations of Hockey and Handball
Rules and regulations guide how various games are played. These rules ensure fairness and prevent injuries.
Rules and Regulations of Hockey
- Only the flat side of the hockey stick can be used to hit the ball. This means that players cannot use the back side of the stick.
- No physical contact is allowed. Hockey is a non-contact sport, and players must not push or hit each other.
- The ball must not be played dangerously. Players should not hit the ball too high or in a way that can injure others.
- Short corners are awarded for fouls in the penalty area. This gives the opposing team a chance to score.
- A goal is scored only when the ball is hit inside the striking circle. The ball must be inside the shooting area before a goal is counted.
Rules and Regulations of Handball
- Each team must have seven players on the court. This includes the goalkeeper.
- Players can only hold the ball for three seconds. Holding it longer results in a turnover.
- A player can only take three steps while holding the ball. More than that leads to a foul.
- No pushing, hitting, or pulling an opponent. Handball is a non-contact sport.
- Only the goalkeeper can touch the ball with their feet. Other players must use their hands only.
